A special MP MLA court in Rampur on Thursday sentenced Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan to 10 years of imprisonment and slapped 14 Lakhs fine in Dungarpur Basti demolition, loot and theft case.
District government advocate MP/MLA court, Seema Singh Rana told ANI that Azam Khan was convicted in a matter yesterday and the quantum of sentence was pronounced today.
“He has been sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment. He has also been penalised with a total amount of Rs 14 Lakhs. The matter pertained to Dungarpur Basti, where complainant Abrar had lodged a case against Khan for forcibly entering into his house in 2019. He had also alleged loot and theft along with threats. His house was demolished using a bulldozer.” Rana told ANI.
The second accused Barkat Ali has been sentenced to seven years of imprisonment with a total of Rs 6 Lakhs fine.
