The government slashed jet fuel or aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices by 6.5 per cent on Saturday, while cutting down the price for commercial cooking gas (LPG) by Rs 69 per 19 kg cylinder. The development followed a decline in global oil prices.

Meanwhile, the authorities kept the price for domestic LPG used for cooking purposes in households unchanged. The price for the domestic cooking gas stands at Rs 803 per cylinder in New Delhi, Rs 829 in Kolkata, Rs 802.50 in Mumbai, and Rs 818.50 in Chennai. The new prices will be effective from June 1, 2024.

The revision in prices meant that the fuel became cheaper by 6.5 per cent or Rs 6,673.87 per kilolitre. This price change follows the earlier marginal increase of 0.7 per cent in the jet fuel prices implemented at the beginning of the last month.
