Former President Donald Trump has said his hush money criminal trial was “very hard” for his wife, former first lady Melania Trump.
Trump was found guilty on Thursday of falsifying business records in the case stemming from a hush money payment made to Stormy Daniels during his 2016 presidential campaign to bury allegations of an alleged sexual encounter.
While several of Trump’s adult children attended the trial to support him, Melania Trump stayed away.
In an interview that aired on Fox & Friends on Sunday, Trump said she is “fine” but that “it’s very hard for her.”
“It’s tougher, I think it’s probably in many ways, it’s tougher on my family than it is on me,” he said.
Asked how Melania was doing, he said: “She’s fine, but I think it’s very hard for her. I mean, she’s fine. But it’s, you know, she has to read all this c***.”
