Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal returned to Tihar Jail as his 21-day interim bail relief expired on Sunday. Before surrendering he visited Mahatma Gandhi’s memorial at Rajghat and the Hanuman temple in Connaught Place. According to Tihar sources, after Arvind Kejriwal reaches jail, he will be presented before the Rouse Avenue Court via video conferencing. As per the rules, whenever an accused surrenders, they must be presented in court to inform the court that the accused has surrendered.

Ahead of surrendering today, Arvind Kejriwal thanked the Supreme Court for granting him a 21-day interim bail, allowing him to campaign for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. “On the orders of the Honorable Supreme Court, I came out for 21 days for election campaigning. Many thanks to the Honorable Supreme Court,” he wrote on X.

Notably, BJP leaders including Delhi BJP chief Virendraa Sachdeva detained by police for protesting against Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, outside Rajghat.
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and his wife Sunita Kejriwal also offered prayers at Hanuman Mandir in Connaught Place.

Virendraa Sachdeva told news agency ANI, “He removed Mahatma Gandhi’s portrait from his office and is now visiting Rajghat. The people of Delhi are suffering because of water shortage and he is doing drama here. We will protest against Arvind Kejriwal.”
