Woman Brings Out Suitcase ‘Prematurely,’ Now Dog Demands to Go to Grandma’s

When dogs see their owner’s suitcase they usually become anxious since they think their human is leaving them and they’re off to a pet sitter or doggy daycare. However, one dog’s surprising reaction has quickly gone viral on TikTok.

Ashley Porcelli’s rescue dog Brody doesn’t run and hide when he spots the suitcase. Instead, he knows there is a plus side: grandma’s house. And he isn’t afraid to show how he’s feeling about the upcoming trip.

In TikTok video posted by @ashleybevporcelli last week, Brody is seen dancing around the living room unable to contain his excitement. Porcelli wrote in the video’s caption that the suitcase was brought out “prematurely” and now, knowing that a trip to grandma’s house was coming up, her pup wouldn’t leave her alone.

His body was wiggling as he hopped around the floor. Tail wagging and a smile plastered across his face, Brody couldn’t have been more ready to get in the car and see his favorite human.

No one can blame Brody for getting this excited to go to grandma’s house. It’s like his own private vacation while his parents are on their trip. He’ll get pampered, smothered with love and, of course, endless treats.

Porcelli told Newsweek via TikTok that this isn’t the only time Brody will dance. He puts on his tapping paws whenever he gets excited.

“He actually has a neuro issue that makes it hard for him to keep his balance so his legs are all wonky,” she said. “It’s really cute.”

Brody, who Porcelli rescued as a 3-month-old puppy, has cerebellar hypoplasia that developed when he was about nine months old. The American Kennel Club (AKC) defines cerebellar hypoplasia as a neurological disease that occurs when the cerebellum, which is responsible for sending signals from the brain to muscles that control balance, coordination and posture, does not form properly.

TikTok Users React

Brody’s excitement danced right into the hearts of TikTok users. The clip has amassed over 1.1 million views and 218,200 likes as of Monday afternoon.

“The going to grandma’s jig,” commented the official account for H&R Block.

While the dog’s dancing is precious, one user pointed out how it could be taken the wrong way: “The way I would start crying because my feelings would be BIG hurt lol.”

Other owners don’t have as much luck when bringing out the suitcases as one explained: “I have to hide suitcases from mine because she makes herself sick and vomits in the house.”
