The New England Patriots are preparing to enter 2024 with a new head coach and a team that could presumably bring them out of the basement of the AFC standings. Former linebackers coach Jerod Mayo is running the show, and this defensive-minded coach has already made a move to solidify the defensive line.

The Patriots and defensive tackle standout Davon Godchaux have reached a two-year extension, worth up to $21 million and includes $16.5 million guaranteed.

Adam Schefter reported the extension, stating:

“Another extension in New England: Patriots and standout DT Davon Godchaux reached agreement on a two-year extension worth up to $21 million that includes $16.5 million guaranteed. The Deal was negotiated by Drew Rosenhaus, Jason Rosenhaus and Ryan Matha.”
