Donald Trump Is Leading Kamala Harris on Social Media

If Donald Trump and Kamala Harris‘s social media metrics have anything to say, Trump has a significant lead on the vice president in the weeks leading up to the 2024 election.

A new report by BetMGM Sportsbook Canada looked at current social media activity and engagement for Trump and Harris on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram.

In most categories, Trump came up ahead of Harris.

For one, he had more likes per post, followers gained and total followers on both platforms. Trump had also gained the most followers overall on both platforms in the last 30 days.

Trump saw an average of 239,000 likes per post on X, while Harris had just 39,000.

He also had a higher engagement rate by 0.06 percent on X and received on average five times the number of likes than Harris.

Trump saw 1.1 million new followers in the last month, while Harris only gained around 249,000.

Both Trump and Harris have been vocal on social media since the two dueled each other during their first debate earlier this month.

For Trump, much of his content to followers comes via his social media platform Truth Social.

He shared a post by Mark Levin, with the caption reading: “Kamala Harris is the most dishonest candidate for president ever.”

Trump also has spread clips from Fox News, and wrote, “Charlie Hurt: ‘Donald Trump is probably the greatest political debater we’ve ever had in American History…'”

Harris has tended to focus on her proposed policies but has also made a series of attacks against Trump.

In a new ad campaign, Harris made her viewpoints on the former president known.

“Take it from the people who worked for him: Donald Trump is a danger to our troops, our security, and our democracy. He should never again stand behind the seal of the President of the United States,” she wrote on X.

Harris also criticized Trump’s views on abortion and indicated women would not be safe with another Trump presidency.

“Donald Trump has made his stance on reproductive freedoms clear. To put it bluntly: He doesn’t trust women,” Harris wrote.

Another recent post pointed out Trump’s statements about his record in office that were inaccurate when fact-checked.

Harris’s ad caption said: “Donald Trump has a real problem with the truth.”

Harris posted to her followers about Trump’s unwillingness to do participate in another debate as well.

“Winners never back down from a challenge. Champions know it’s anytime, anyplace,” an ad campaign shared. “But losers, they whine and waffle and take their ball home.”

Harris has also targeted younger voters on TikTok as she hopes to take the Gen Z vote.

Since Biden announced he’d be stepping out of the election and Harris announced her candidacy, more than 230,000 Americans registered to vote.
