Tension erupted in Jharkhand’s Garhwa district following an idol immersion during Durga Puja. The incident unfolded on Sunday after one community blocked the way of people going to immerse the Durga idol in Lakhna village in the Sadar block of the district, which led to a huge uproar.
There was stone pelting reported in the district which left three people, including a woman, wounded. Following the stone pelting, the police resorted to lathi-charge to disperse the crowd. Some police personnel are also believed to be injured during the incident.
A large number of police forces arrived on the spot and after the intervention of the administration, the dispute was resolved.

Following the incident, the entire Matgarhi area has been converted into a security camp, with a heavy police presence deployed to maintain order.
