Jon Gosselin On How He And Ex Kate Gosselin Communicate

Jon Gosselin sheds some light on the relationship he has with his ex-wife Kate Gosselin.

The famed reality TV star, 47, spoke about Kate, 49, during an interview with E! News that was published on Friday, January 31. When Jon was asked about whether he speaks to his former wife, who he divorced from in 2009, he gave a shocking answer.

“We don’t communicate,” Jon told the outlet. “I think the last time I heard her voice in person was, like, 2018.”

Jon later specified that the last time he spoke to Kate was during their custody battle for their son Collin, who accused his mom of verbal and emotional abuse in the past. The courts ruled in favor of Jon despite Kate denying any allegations.

Along with Collin, Jon and Kate share seven other children. This includes sextuplets Collin, Hannah, Alexis, Aaden, Leah, and Joel together, 20, as well as 23-year-old twins Mady and Cara. The family’s life was chronicled in the reality series Jon & Kate Plus 8, which ran from 2007 until 2017 and aired on Discovery and TLC.

Later in the interview, Jon admitted that his current relationship with Kate is much better than it has been in the past.

“It’s been calm,” he said, “very calm, knock on wood, for two years now.”

Jon announced his engagement to chemist Stephanie Lebo in November 2024. The soon-to-be husband and wife have been dating for three years. In a separate interview with OK Magazine in December 2024, Jon claimed that he was trying to incorporate his children into his wedding plans.

“I will send an invite to all of them. You know, they are my kids. It would be nice for [Stephanie] to meet my other kids,” Jon said.

Meanwhile, Kate has remained out of the headlines — except in May 2024 — when she posted an Instagram photo of the sextuplets that went viral. The photo did not include Collin or Hannah.

“No more teenagers in this house! Happy 20th birthday, my forever babies!” Kate wrote in the caption. “I love you! Who feels old? I know I do!”
