In 2024, Aamir Khan’s son Junaid had made his acting debut with Netflix movie Maharaja. Now, he is gearing up to mark his presence on the big screen opposite Khushi Kapoor with the Advait Chandan-directed Loveyapa. For those who came in late, Loveyapa is the official remake of the 2022 Tamil film, Love Today. The film was a hit at the time of its release and earned over Rs 100 crore. Following its release on Netflix, the film found more takers.
According to reports, Loveyapa will get a pan-India release and the distributor will release it on close to 1200 screens nationwide. On February 5, the movie’s advance booking had started and the response to it has been positive. As on February 6, as reported by Pinkvilla, Loveyapa has sold over 2400 tickets in the top 3 national chains – PVRInox and Cinepolis.
As reported by Pinkvilla, the present advance booking trends suggest the Loveyapa’s final pre-sale could fall in the range of 5000 tickets in the national chains. This can further be translated into Rs 1 crore to Rs 1.20 crore business on its first day. If Loveyapa is successful in crossing the crore mark, the collection could shoot up (twice) over the weekend and get more revenue over the weekdays.
The recent star-studded screening of Loveyapa has been in news for it saw the presence of all three khans of Bollywood – Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan.
Aamir Khan had warmly greeted Shah Rukh as he arrived for the event. The two superstars shared a warm hug, and SRK also kissed Aamir on his cheek. Within in minutes, the heartwarming moment went viral.
Salman Khan too looked happy as he joined both Aamir and Junaid Khan for the special screening. The superstar also posed with Aamir and Junaid for quick photos, and added a much-needed star power to the event.
On January 3, 2025, Shah Rukh Khan took to X (formerly Twitter) to laud a song from Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor’s much-awaited film. SRK had shared a link to the song and posted, “So sweet this song is. Gentle like Junaid. All the best Khushi. My big love to the #Loveyapa couple and team.”
