The stage is set for Saturday when the votes will be counted for the elections to the 70-member Delhi Legislative Assembly. A total of 699 candidates were in the fray across the 70 seats in a close three-way fight between Aam Aadmi Party, Bharatiya Janata Party, and Congress.
The national capital has a total of over 1.5 crore voters and according to the Election Commission of India, the final voter turnout in Delhi stood at 60.42 per cent at 11:30 pm on Wednesday.
Fate of several leaders across political parties is at stake including former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, BJP leader Parvesh Verma, and former Congress MP Sandeep Dixit — all contesting against each other for the New Delhi assembly seat.

Chief Minister Atishi faces a challenge from Congress leader Alka Lamba and BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri from the Kalkaji seat.
While several exit polls have predicted a clean sweep for BJP, the AAP has refuted the surveys maintaining it will retain power in the national capital.

The counting of votes is set to start at 7 am on Saturday, February 8. The counting process is expected to continue throughout the day and conclude at around 6 pm.
