With free agency starting to wind down, attention is starting to turn towards the NFL draft, both for fans of the league and the teams.
Part of free agency and its impact on the draft, besides altering team needs, is handing out compensatory picks.
35 compensatory picks have been handed out officially to teams based on free agency from last offseason, leaving some teams with a plethora of picks.
Out of every NFL team, nine now have double-digit picks. Here are those nine teams who now have the most picks in this year’s NFL draft.
Teams with 11 picks: Baltimore Ravens, San Francisco 49ers
Two historically well-run organizations, the Ravens and 49ers have tied for the most picks in the NFL.

The 49ers also have the maximum four compensatory picks, with a compensatory pick in rounds 3 and four, along with two in round seven.
Considering both teams, besides the 49ers struggling last season, have been towards the top of the league for the past few seasons, it is surprising they have managed to compile so many picks.
The Ravens received their picks for losing Patrick Queen, Jadeveon Clowney, Geno Stone, and Kevin Zeitler in free agency last offseason, which makes their success this past season more impressive.
The 49ers received theirs for head coach DeMeco Ryans joining the Texans, and losing many free agents last offseason, just as they did this offseason.
Teams with 10 picks: Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys, Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Chargers, Miami Dolphins, Seattle Seahawks
While the Browns and Jaguars are near the top of the draft, it is interesting to see how the teams with the most picks are teams outside the top 10.
That indicates many of the good teams tend to build through the draft. They draft good players, develop them into better players, let them walk in free agency, and then draft replacements.
Compensatory picks, while typically lower rounds are definitely underrated by the casual fan. They serve as a good for teams to fill out the roster with solid backups who can become starters down the line.
While more trades are sure to come, for now, these nine teams have the most picks in the NFL draft. It will be interesting to see if each team uses all of these picks, or if anything decides to be aggressive and use them to trade up for specific players they want.
