‘Wasn’t Drunk, Want To Meet Deceased’s Family’

Meanwhile, the accused has refused that he was drunk at the time of the accident. Speaking to reporters, Rakshit Ravish Chaurasia whose face was all bruised and swollen claimed that the airbags in the car opened when the vehicle touched the scooty obstructing his sight.

“I was returning to my home, it was my friend’s car. It touched a scooty, the car sensors are sensitive so airbags opened. I couldn’t see anything, the car got derailed. I didn’t know what happened. Then a fight ensued which you saw in the video. I was saying all that to drive people away from me. I was saying ‘Rakshit’ and ‘Om Namah Shivay’…,” he said.

He further claimed that the car’s speed was around 50 kmph and there were no people around except for the scooty and a car. When asked directly if he was drunk, he denied it saying, “We didn’t do any party…I didn’t consume anything.”

“No, I did not drink…I want to meet the family of the deceased as it was my fault,” he added.
