Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor’s Nadaaniyan movie was released this month and it received severe backlash. The viewers heavily criticised Ibrahim and Khushi’s acting along with the dialogues used in the film. Many have also mocked the duo and shared memes on social media. It marks Ibrahim’s debut and Khushi’s third film. The romantic comedy has been directed by Karan Johar’s Dharmatic Entertainment.
Recently, at an event, Karan Johar was asked about the criticism the movie received. As reported by NDTV, at a trailer launch of a Punjabi film, Karan said, “A critic wrote, ‘I want to kick this film’. I have a major issues with these people. I have no issues with the industry, trolls, opinion makers, social commentary. I happily accept people’s opinions. In the same way, we have also our Nadaaniyan, Gustakhiyaan, and Gehraiyaan. But, when you write such things in your review, it is not a reflection of the film, it is a reflection of you.”
KJo added, “These intellectual cinema lovers should have a sensitive side because nobody wants to be kicked. Kicking is violence. It is physical violence. When you are not allowed violence in the real world, even words are equally violent. You should be condemned for being violent.”
As evident from videos shared on social media, Karan Johar also gave a filmy answer while defending Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor. KJo said, “Main bas ye hi kahunga, ek purane film ka alfaaz hai ki kuch toh log kahenge logon ka kaam hai kehna… chhodo bekaar ki baatein, beet na jaaye raina. Bas ye hi kehna chahunga main.”
