Blake Shelton has plenty of things he can do on his own β€” host award shows, dominate country music, and run his Oklahoma ranch. But one thing he doesn’t want to do solo? Make an album without a feature from his wife, Gwen Stefani.

“I don’t feel like I wanna make a record without a duet with Gwen on it anymore,” the 48-year-old country superstar shared in an interview with Today published Wednesday, March 19. “She’s my favorite person to sing with.”

Shelton’s upcoming album, For Recreational Use Only, features a new duet with the 55-year-old “Hollaback Girl” songstress called “Hangin’ On.” Over the years, they’ve recorded several songs together, including “Nobody But You,” “Happy Anywhere,” and most recently, “Purple Irises,” from Stefani’s album Bouquet.

Later in the interview, Shelton was asked if he’d ever perform with Stefani and her three sons, Kingston, 18, Zuma, 16, and Apollo, 10, whom she shares with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale. “That would be a lot of fun,” the “God’s Country” singer said without skipping a beat. “I know that would be Gwen’s dream come true is to have, like, a family band or something like that.”

Their latest collaboration comes just over a month after Shelton shared a sweet Valentine’s Day tribute to Stefani. “Happy Valentine’s Day to my forever Valentine,” he captioned a picture of the pair on Instagram. “I love you @gwenstefani!!!!!”

The No Doubt hitmaker responded in the comments, “πŸ’“πŸ’“πŸ’“πŸ’“πŸ™πŸ» love my husband x.”

Shelton and Stefani met as coaches on The Voice in 2014 while both navigating high-profile divorces β€” Shelton from Miranda Lambert and Stefani from Gavin Rossdale, 59. Despite initial hesitations, their shared love of music brought them closer.

“I think he really wanted to impress me,” Stefani told People in November 2024, reflecting on how Shelton sent her an unfinished song for them to complete together. “That was our first song that we ever wrote together. We were never even in the same room, but we were writing a song to each other.”

In 2021, the lovebirds made it official, tying the knot in a private chapel on Shelton’s Oklahoma ranch.
