After discovering that she was expecting her first child, this mom-to-be knew she had to capture the reactions of her in-laws when they found out the exciting news, and they did not disappoint.
When Golda Rose Morgan from Orange County, California, discovered that she and her husband Darien were expecting, she knew she had to tell everyone immediately. The mom-to-be didn’t want to waste a moment, telling Newsweek that she’s “not good at keeping a secret.”
The 30-year-old arranged to see her parents-in-law the same day, telling them that she had a surprise birthday gift to drop off for her mother-in-law, Brenda Morgan. But there was no ordinary present inside the gift bag, and instead, when she opened it, she would find a positive pregnancy test.
“It was my mother-in-law’s 60th birthday that weekend, so we said we were going to stop by their house to drop off a gift to kick off her birthday week,” Golda said.

As soon as Brenda realized what was inside the bag, she dropped to the floor in shock. Not wanting to be left out, her husband Victor decided to take a peek afterward, and his reaction was just as joyful. The duo both slid onto the floor, waving their arms and legs around uncontrollably.
This was exactly what Golda had hoped for when she started filming, as she couldn’t have asked for a more genuine reaction to the news of her pregnancy.
She couldn’t resist sharing the footage of “the best grandparents” on TikTok (@goldarose) and it delighted many other social media users. In just a few days, the clip has been viewed over 11.2 million times and received more than 1.9 million likes.
Golda continued: “Their reactions are truly the epitome of how excited they are to be grandparents. While my husband and I only recently started to feel ready to become parents, they’ve been ready to be grandparents for a long time.
“This will actually be their second grandchild as my sister-in-law is expecting a baby this August. My in-laws would have never guessed they’d have two grandchildren in one year.”
Since sharing the news with family, Golda has learned that she’s going to be having a baby girl, due in October. Needless to say, her parents-in-law cannot wait to meet the newest addition to the family.
One day in the future, she even hopes to show the announcement video to her daughter, as it will forever be “such a special moment” for the whole family.
Golda regularly gives people a glimpse into her life through social media, as she posts about her daily routine, skincare, and workouts in the gym. The pregnancy reveal was a very different type of video to what she usually shares, but her TikTok followers couldn’t get enough.
“I’ve had content go viral before, but definitely not with this many views. Our online friends have been so sweet and absolutely love the grandparent content. We’ve had multiple comments from people stating how much they loved the video, how blessed my husband and I are, and how this video healed a part of them,” Golda told Newsweek.
The viral TikTok post has gained more than 15,600 comments already, as many people lauded the unmistakable joy caught on camera. One comment reads: “they are going to be such fun grandparents.”
Another TikTok user wrote: “The way the dad malfunctioned.”
A third user joked: “They’re literally soulmates, they had the same reaction.”
