In an interview with India Today, Chak De! India‘s Vidya Malavade revealed that Shah Rukh Khan would guide the girls through the shoot and that is why the girls called him ‘Papa’. She added that Shah Rukh Khan played a coach in the film and in general there is respect for the leader. He was like a father figure and was quite sweet too. Thus, they called him ‘papa’. Vidya also added that the girls would know when Shah Rukh Khan is on the set with the sent of his perfume. King Khan always smelt fresh and nice, she said. Vidya Malavade also praised Shah Rukh Khan’s energy level. She revealed how Shah Rukh Khan took the girls out one evening to watch the movie Don and then they all partied till 6 am. Shah Rukh Khan was still fresh and energetic and wanted to go eat breakfast. Vidya quipped “He just brings everybody up with the amount of energy that he has and he exudes. We can learn and take so much from him.” Shah Rukh Khan also has a razor-sharp mind, Vidya added.
