Game Preview

The Cavaliers hold a comfortable lead for the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference, with a 6.5-game cushion over the Celtics. They are playing arguably their best basketball right now, amid an eight-game winning streak, including a 40-point drubbing of the upstart Orlando Magic on Tuesday night. Ty Jerome led the Cavaliers in scoring, with 20 points on 7-for-12 shooting off the bench.

Meanwhile, Boston is coming off of a surprising 117-97 loss at the hands of the red-hot Detroit Pistons. Despite shooting 42.9% from the 3-point line (21-for-49) for the game, the Celtics shot just 30.4% (7-for-23) in the second half, where they were outscored 62-42. Jayson Tatum scored 27 points, while Derrick White and Payton Pritchard added 18 each.

For the season, the Cavaliers are the No. 1-ranked team in the NBA in terms of offensive rating (122.8), with the Celtics ranking No. 5 on defense (110.5).

This is the fourth and final time the Celtics and Cavaliers will face each other in the regular season, with the Celtics winning two of the previous three, including the previous matchup in Boston.
