Aamir Khan‘s movie Ghajini that released in 2008 marked a milestone in Bollywood by emerging as the first-ever Hindi film to enter the prestigious Rs 100 crore club. Directed by AR Murugadoss, the film was a remake of the Tamil film with the same name. Aamir Khan received massive praise for intense performance. Asin had played his love interest. It was psychological action thriller that kept everyone on the edge of their seats, courtesy its gripping storyline. Years after the release of Ghajini, fans are excited over the possibility of a sequel.
During the promotions of Thandel, producer Allu Arvind teased fans about Ghajini 2. At the trailer launch event of Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi’s film, Allu Arvind spoke about Ghajini 2 and said, “Ghajini is the first film to do Rs 100 crore. Now, Rs. 100 crore is equivalent to Rs 1000 crore. I want to make a Rs 1000 crore film with you (Aamir Khan), maybe Ghajini 2.” This left fans extremely excited. Soon the possibility of Ghajini 2 being went viral, but are the reports true?
As reported by Bollywood Hungama, producer Allu Arvind had rubbished the reports. He said, “I was kidding with him (Aamir).” Hence, all rumours can be put to rest – Aamir Khan is not returning to his Ghajini avatar anytime soon.
Aamir was last seen in Laal Singh Chaddha. The movie that also starred Kareena Kapoor Khan failed miserably at the box office. After taking a short break from acting, Aamir is set to return to the big screen with his much-anticipated project Sitaare Zameen Par. Aamir will also be producing Lahore 1947 that will feature Sunny Deol as the lead. The actor has been extremely busy promoting his son Junaid Khan for his theatrical debut with Loveyapa. Interestingly, Aamir has also made a cameo appearance in the film.
