Travis Kelce’s FaceTime Call After 2025 Super Bowl Loss

Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek’s network of contributors

Travis Kelce wasn’t letting a Super Bowl loss keep him from chatting with his friends.

On Monday, February 10, a video surfaced on X (formerly Twitter) showing the 35-year-old NFL superstar FaceTiming with The Chainsmokers — the electronic hitmakers made up of Alex Pall and Drew Taggart. The call appeared to come just hours after the Chiefs’ 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 59.

“I just played your f***ing party,” Taggart, 35, told Kelce, referencing the team’s post-game bash in New Orleans. The celebration was notably missing some key players — including the tight end himself and quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

“Dom is here too,” someone on the call shouted before flipping the camera to show Australian DJ Dom Dolla. Despite the loss, Kelce didn’t seem too down about the game, flashing a smile as he spoke to his pals.

Shortly after the FaceTime footage hit the internet, fans had plenty to say about the athlete’s unexpected virtual hangout.

“lmao people on Twitter having the crash out of the century on Travis’s behalf or whatever and meanwhile he was hanging with Dom Dolla and taking FaceTime calls from The Chainsmokers 💀 ” one person wrote on X.

“This honestly means everything- just seeing him smile- I’m glad he’s good,” another added.

“I hope he had allllll the drinks and pop tarts,” joked a third.

“I knew Travis & Taylor and friends would still be out there having a good time 💥❤️💛❤️ #ChiefsKingdom,” someone else said.

Kelce’s night might not have included bottle service and a Vegas DJ set, but his longtime friendship with The Chainsmokers is well-documented. The trio have partied together multiple times, including at the Kentucky Derby last May and after the Chiefs’ 2023 Super Bowl win.

As for what’s next? That remains up in the air. After the loss, the three-time Super Bowl champ skipped the postgame press conference and hasn’t addressed whether he’ll return for another season. But in November 2023, Kelce admitted to WSJ. Magazine that he thinks about retirement “more than anyone could ever imagine” as his body feels the wear and tear of 12 NFL seasons.
