
Xiaomi’s GetApps to make way for Indus Appstore in India, will come pre-installed on new phones

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi and PhonePe-owned Indus Appstore on Thursday (March 13, 2025) entered into a multi-year partnership to replace Xiaomi’s app store GetApps with the Indus Appstore on all new Xiaomi smartphones, including Redmi, in India for a more localised digital user experience.
Now, the Indus Appstore will come pre-installed on all the new Xiaomi and Redmi smartphones and replace the GetApps from the existing devices with it.
With the Indus Appstore on new Xiaomi and Redmi phones, users can discover apps in 12 Indian languages which the platform supports. It also has video-led app discovery system that gives visual previews of apps before downloading.
Indus Appstore also supports voice commands in 10 Indian languages for app searches. The homegrown app store claims to have over 5 lakh mobile apps and games across 45 categories.
