Shah Rukh Khan has worked with several South directors including Mani Ratnam, Atlee among others. In 2023, the superstar delivered a blockbuster by essaying a double role in Atlee’s Jawan. Looks like the superstar will next collaborate with Sukumar, the man behind Allu Arjun’s Pushpa franchise, which has become one of the audience’s favourites in the past few years. There are reports that a collaboration between the two might happen.
As reported by Mid-Day, Shah Rukh Khan and Sukumar might collaborate for a rural political action drama. In the movie, the superstar will play an anti-hero and the story will deal with topics like caste and class oppression and other relevant subjects. While reacting on this, a source told the portal, “King Khan will play an anti-hero, but this will be a rural political action drama that promises to show him in a raw, rustic, and desi avatar.”
As soon as the news surfaced, people took to Reddit to share their reactions. One person wrote, “Damn SRK ??? , please don’t reject this movieeeee.” Another commented, “So when will this film be released then Sukumar has a film with Ram Charan next and maybe Pushpa 3 after that so it’s going to release in 2030 if the news is true!! Honestly a Rangasthalam style movie with SRK in it would be awesome!!” Next comment on Reddit read, “Hopefully this happens. SRK in an anti-hero role + rural setting can be a huge blockbuster. Sukumar can present SRK really well. Has the potential to click in the classes & masses. Potential ATBB.”

Shah Rukh Khan currently has two big projects lined up – King and Pathaan 2. On the other hand, Sukumar will be next busy with Pushpa 3 and a movie with Ram Charan. So a collaboration between SRK and the South director might take at least 2-3 years.
