The Delhi Police has registered two cases over the ruckus in Govindpuri on Monday night. A case was registered against Atishi for violating the model code of conduct ahead of the Delhi Assembly election.
The second case has been registered against Atishi’s supporters because they misbehaved with the policemen and blocked the way of Ramesh Bidhuri’s nephews by posing as members of the Election Commission.
The police also filed a case against BJP leader Ramesh Bidhuri’s nephew. In a tweet, DCP South East Delhi said: “FIR No. 106/25 is registered u/s 221/132/121(1)/3(5) BNS at 0S Govindpuri for causing obstruction in discharge of public duty & assault while on duty. Further investigation is in progress.”

Soon after the incident, Atishi said: “The Delhi Police illegally took into custody two youths who were reporting and making a video of MCC violations. No action was taken against those making the violation. Hope that the Election Commission intends to have free and fair elections in Delhi.”
