‘Gossip Girl’ Star Michelle Trachtenberg Dies At 39

Actor Michelle Trachtenberg, best known for her roles in ‘Gossip Girl’ and ‘Buffy The Vampire Slayer’, has passed away at the age of 39, according to police sources speaking to The Post. As reported by Page Six, her death is not being investigated with any suspicion.

Relatives informed the media that Trachtenberg was discovered on Wednesday morning in the posh apartment block One Columbus Place on Central Park South.

She reportedly underwent a liver transplant not long ago as well. She was 39.

Who is Michelle Trachtenberg?

Michelle Trachtenberg’s career began at a young age, earning her first major role at just 3 years old on the Nickelodeon series ‘The Adventures of Pete & Pete’. Her breakout role in 1996’s ‘Harriet the Spy’ further solidified her position in Hollywood. 

Throughout her career, Trachtenberg appeared in films like ‘EuroTrip’, ‘Ice Princess’ and ’17 Again’, but she became a household name for her portrayals of Dawn Summers in ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ and Georgina Sparks in ‘Gossip Girl’.

Born in New York City in 1985 to Michael and Lana Trachtenberg, Michelle’s rise to fame as a child star set the stage for her lasting impact on TV and film.

In a recent Instagram post, Trachtenberg sparked concern among fans after one commented that she appeared “sick.” She responded directly, defending her look and confronting the commenter by saying, “Explain to me how I look sick. Did you lose a calendar and not realize I’m not 14. I’m 38. How sad for you to leave such a comment.”


Trachtenberg had previously opened up about overcoming childhood trauma, adding a layer of depth to her public persona.
