The 2025 Caribbean Series in Mexicali, Mexico will continue on Tuesday as Puerto Rico takes on the Dominican Republic.

The annual Caribbean Series club tournament finishes up the preliminary round on Tuesday with a pair of games, after which the field will be whittled from five teams down to four. This tournament features the winning teams from the domestic leagues in the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Venezuela as well as a representative from Japan this year.
Puerto Rico is represented by 2024–25 Puerto Rican Professional Baseball League champions Indios de Mayaguez while the Dominican Republic is repped by 2024–25 Dominican Professional Baseball League winners Leones del Escogido.

The Dominican team is managed by baseball legend Albert Pujols, who has moved into coaching since he retired from baseball. He has this team sitting second in the standings at the moment with two wins and a loss. The team has already clinched a spot in the knockout stage.
Last time out, Leones del Escogido suffered its only loss so far, falling 2-0 to the Mexican team Charros de Jalisco.
As for the Puerto Rican side, the team is 1-2 and has the tiebreaking win over Japan Breeze, so it too will be playing in the knockout stage, though it would love to find a way to get the No. 3 seed to avoid the Mexican team in the next round.
The team looks to rebound from a 10-5 loss on Monday to Cardenales de Lara.
