Ashton Hall, 29, is a fitness influencer who has 9 million followers on Instagram. On February 8, Hall posted a video of his morning routine which has since gone extremely viral and has received over 720 million views on X at the time of reporting.
Who Is Ashton Hall?
Hall is a fitness influencer and a former LA fitness trainer. Before he became a fitness instructor, he played as a running back at First Coast High School in Jacksonville, Florida, and later signed with the Ravens in 2010.
He had ambitions to be in the NFL and recently told the outlet Essentially Sports, “Being in the NFL was all I could think about.”
After his NFL ambitions didn’t pan out, he started posting workout videos on social media. He told Essentially Sports, “My fans appreciated the inspiration. They adored my athletic journey, and they wished they knew what I did to get where I am at.”
What To Know
In Hall’s morning routine video, he is seen removing sleeping tape from his mouth, doing an early morning workout, journaling, dunking his head in a bowl of iced water multiple times, and then going to the gym. He also goes to a sauna, runs around and rubs banana peel on his face.
Hall’s video is not altogether that different from lots of fitness influencers‘ daily routine videos, but it has been met with a mixed response online, including from the YouTuber MrBeast.

In a post on X, MrBeast wrote, “Morning gang, don’t forget to dunk your face in ice water today,” and followed this post with a screenshot of Hall with his head in a bowl of ice.
Shortly after this, MrBeast followed up with another post about the morning routine. The post featured a picture showing a series of texts from a “Personal assistant.”
The texts included, “It’s time to dump your face in ice water!”, “QUICK!! RUB A BANANA PEEL ON YOUR FACE,” and “JIMMY ARE YOU AWAKE.” In the post, which has been viewed 33 million times as of reporting, he wrote, “I accidentally slept in and missed my morning routine.”
The response to his post was mixed, with some users not seeming to understand what MrBeast was referencing and others sharing screenshots from Hall’s video.
One user replied, “And just like that it’s unfunny,” while another user wrote, “okay I’ll admit I laughed a little.”
What People Are Saying
Ashton Hall in a video addressing the original viral morning routine video: “I came here to address the nonsense… this is for the creators that are sick and tired of their work being copied. Listen to me well, you’re either going to be a leader or a follower and it’s okay to be either one but you have to choose.”
A social media user shared this video from Hall and wrote: “Who gon tell him we making fun of him not copying him.”
What’s Next
Hall may well speak in more detail about the viral video and the online response to it in time.
