The screening of Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna’s much-appreciated film Chhaava in Delhi’s Select Citywalk Mall had to be stopped midway after a fire broke out inside the theatre hall on February 26. The incident occurred around 4 pm when a corner of the projection screen ignited. Within minutes, the fire alarm alerted everyone and prompted theatre security to take immediate action to evacuate everyone from the cinema hall. A spokesperson for the Select Citywalk Mall assured nobody was harmed during the incident. “We are aware of the short circuit incident which happened at the adjoining multiplex. We are assisting the multiplex team and the authorities, and extending full cooperation to them. There was no harm to any human life. Routine operations at Nexus Select Citywalk remain unaffected,” the spokesperson’s official statement read. Chhaava’s Box Office collection

Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal’s period drama Chhaava continues to dominate the box office. As reported by Sacnilk, Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava has emerged as the first Indian film of 2025 to cross ₹500 crores gross collection in 12 days. It is also one of the fastest Hindi language films to achieve this. Chhaava is all set to beat Deepika Padukone’s movie Padmaavat and bag the highest-grossing historical epic title at the Indian box office. Many are also expecting it to be the biggest Indian grosser globally in this genre.

Chhaava declared tax free

After MP & Goa, Chhaava has been declared tax-free in Chhattisgarh. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai had announced tonm Wednesday night that the film will be tax-free in the state. “Chhava is not just a film, it is a tribute to our historical traditions, courage, and self-respect. Every citizen should watch it to understand the legacy of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj,” Sai had said.

As Sai said, the decision was taken to connect the people of Chhattisgarh with India’s celebrated history and drill a sense of patriotism and valor among the youngsters.
